Consultation / Feedback
null

Mental Health conversations in the transport industry are often difficult due to stigma, fear of judgement and a lack of understanding about mental health issues.

These negative perceptions and attitudes can be a barrier to workers and drivers feeling comfortable to talk, give feedback or seek help.

Transport operators have a legal duty to provide a safe working environment, consult with workers and provide comprehensive training.

Legally operators must provide workers with an opportunity to raise psychosocial health and safety issues, and to allow them to express their views and contribute.

This can be difficult as when it comes to complex or sensitive topics like mental health, bullying and work demands, words don’t always land the way we expect.

For many workers in the transport, logistics and supply chain sectors written policies, lengthy surveys, dense reports and jargon heavy meetings can feel abstract, confusing, technical or even overwhelming in a workplace which is diverse in terms of age, ethnicity and background.

It is crucial for operators to ensure that their work practices are inclusive and easily understood so they can reach the workers who need them most.

This may also include analysing whether existing consultation arrangements are appropriate for psychosocial risks.

WE HELP BY MAKING CONSULTATION

CLEARER, QUICKER AND MORE INCLUSIVE

Clearer:  Visual tools and illustrated risk diagrams simplify complex psychological concepts.  This helps workers see what stress, burnout, or conflicts actual looks like on the job and what can be done about them.

Quicker:  Well crafted diagrams can communicate in seconds what might take paragraphs to explain.  That means faster feedback, shorter workshops and quicker implementation of mental health strategies.

More Inclusive:  Visuals transcend language barriers, literacy levels and job roles.  From truck drivers with limited English to admin staff in head office – everyone can engage, understand and contribute.

NO ONE IS LEFT OUT OF THE CONVERSATION
